Abdul Karim's family consists of nineteen members, all of whom are children. The youngest is a few days-old girl who has been suffering from cerebral hypoxia since birth. Abdul Karim is severely ill and unable to work; therefore, he borrows to provide for the family's necessities since they live in very poor conditions in a tent. Debts are piling up on them, and they are unable to pay them off.
