Widad, born in 1980, is divorced and has been displaced from Syria for several years due to the harsh conditions of the war. After her husband abandoned her and took her children, she was left alone without a home or a provider. She lives with her nieces in a simple rented house under very difficult living conditions amidst the current high cost of living and lack of support. Widad works in a restaurant in Beirut for a low wage that barely covers her basic living expenses and transportation costs to her job, in addition to the debts she has accumulated due to a surgery she underwent for a cartilage problem.
