Aunt Maryam lives with her four daughters and grandson in a small home under dire living conditions. She lost her husband and two sons during the bombing of their house in Aleppo. The sorrow has weighed heavily on her heart, leading to blocked arteries and a stomach ulcer, yet she continues to fight to stay strong for her daughters. Maryam once worked cleaning homes until her daughters grew up and began supporting her through their work at a sewing workshop. However, their income barely covers basic needs.
