Nidal lives in a small caravan in a refugee camp with his wife and three children, after the devastating earthquake destroyed their home. The family still remembers the terrifying moments when Nidal and one of his sons were trapped under the rubble for a whole day before being rescued. But the tragedy didn’t end there. Nidal was rescued from the rubble with a severe spinal cord injury at the fourth vertebra, leaving him completely quadriplegic. Today, the family has no source of income and is sinking deeper into debt with each passing day.
