In a cramped, old room barely large enough for its occupants, Ali lives with his wife and two children. They share the space with his brother in a deteriorated house that offers little comfort. Ali, the head of the family, is unable to work due to a medical condition he was born with, meningocele, which affected his spine and resulted in paralysis of both lower limbs.
