Salwa suffers from severe hearing loss that prevents her from communicating with her children and those around her, causing her deep emotional distress. Whenever she leaves the house, she must be accompanied by one of her children to repeat what others say loudly enough for her to understand. The family lives in a small three-room home with basic amenities. Most of her children are university students, supported by their eldest brother, a teacher who strives to meet the family’s needs despite their difficult circumstances. Salwa is in urgent need of hearing aids to restore her ability to communicate with her children and those around her, to regain a sense of normalcy, ease her isolation, and bring peace and hope back into her family’s life.
