Since 2013, Aisha has lived through a long journey of displacement that began when she was forced to leave her home in Homs. She moved from one place to another until she eventually reached Jordan, where she now stays between her daughters’ homes. Yet the hardships of life in exile make it impossible for them to support her as they wish.
The most painful part of Aisha’s story was the loss of her detained son, followed by the passing of her husband. She has been left alone to face illness and loneliness far from home. She was forced to undergo a surgery, and debts have since accumulated heavily upon her. Despite everything she has endured, her heart remains tied to Homs.
She dreams of returning to her old home, but today it is nearly destroyed without doors or windows, requiring complete renovation before it can become livable again.
Aisha wants nothing more than a safe shelter that reunites her with her family, and a secure roof that can finally bring an end to years of displacement.
