Anas lives today with his family and his wife’s family in a single room that has been only partially repaired, after they returned to their home to find it turned into rubble with cracked walls that are unfit for living. The place is at risk of collapse at any moment and does not provide even the minimum safety. Three of his wife’s brothers are completely mentally incapacitated, and Anas alone carries the responsibility of caring for them, in addition to supporting his own family of five. He is an elderly daily laborer trying to provide for nine people, while their care requires constant presence and effort far beyond his capacity.
