Fawaz spent harsh years in the camps of northern Syria, losing a large part of his life there. When he finally returned to his village, carrying hope of settling in his home, he found it completely destroyed, and his hopes were shattered. Fawaz lives with his family and his child who was born with a disability, in addition to the lasting scars of war that still affect the child. He now struggles between helplessness and hope, trying to meet his child’s medical needs and repair the roof of his home so his family can have a stable place to live.
