Hasnaa lives with her mother and daughter in a small home that lacks even the most basic necessities, including doors. The family depends largely on charitable support to cover daily expenses, as their living conditions make it impossible to meet basic needs on their own. Hasnaa suffers from a neurological condition that causes repeated seizures, while her mother, Mona, lives with diabetes and high blood pressure. Because of financial hardship, they are often forced to reduce their medication or go without part of it, simply to make it last longer. Hasnaa’s daughter is in seventh grade, but she is deprived of basic school supplies and the small daily expenses a child her age needs.
