In an instant, Jana’s life, and her mother’s, was forever changed when a landmine exploded during a visit to Jabal al-Akrad. Jana sustained devastating injuries. Her right leg was amputated below the knee, her left leg suffered multiple fractures, and shrapnel struck her face and hands. Her mother was also wounded in the explosion. Today, Jana remains in Latakia University Hospital, enduring intense pain as she continues her treatment. Her father, a Civil Defense driver, is the sole provider for the entire family. They live in a tent with his elderly parents, relying on his limited income to survive. As medical needs grow and living conditions remain harsh, the burden on this family has become overwhelming. They are in urgent need of support to help them through this painful ordeal and bring them a measure of relief and hope.
