Geschichte
Aunt Amira is battling complex medical conditions that threaten her life. She suffers from the aftermath of a cerebral infarction (stroke) she experienced a year ago, which left her with weakness on her left side, difficulty speaking, and memory impairment. Her suffering did not stop there. Recently, she developed unstable angina, leaving her in urgent need of a cardiac catheterization and stent placement to save her exhausted heart. The family is completely unable to afford the cost of this procedure, especially with her chronic conditions of diabetes and hypertension. Aunt Amira was displaced from her home in Deir ez-Zor in 2017 and moved to the city of Al-Bab, where she now lives in an unfinished house lacking even the most basic necessities. She lives with her son Bilal and his family of six in a single cramped room, sharing poverty and hardship. Her son works tirelessly for a modest income that barely covers rent and basic food, making the dream of treatment and surgery distant and difficult to achieve.
