Khitam is an orphan girl from the western countryside of Aleppo, born on January 15, 2013. She is in elementary school but struggles to attend regularly due to her home being located high in the mountains of Dara Azza, where transportation is unavailable. A private school with reliable transportation would better suit her needs. Despite facing emotional challenges and often isolating herself at home, Khitam has a strong love for learning the Qur’an and enjoys attending Qur’anic lessons. She is also passionate about drawing. She and her family live in extreme poverty, burdened by heavy debts. Most of their current support goes toward repaying these debts and covering the children’s basic needs.
