Despite the loss of his father in a bombing, Moatasem continued his education, and he is now in sixth grade. Moatasem was born at the start of the Syrian revolution and is now twelve years old and dreams of becoming a doctor. He lives with his mother and four brothers in a small house in Idlib. His mother is unable to work to ensure a better future for her children. Moatasem is a healthy diligent student yet quarrelsome and enjoys drawing.
