Molham Team website .. Three years of making their wishes come true!
On 12th of October 2012, when we were university students in Jordan, the idea was born. We were motivated by our feelings of responsibility towards families who suffered from injustice and oppression in Syria and became refugees in neighboring countries. At the beginning, our resources were very limited and we relied on our own pocket money as well as donations from friends and relatives who trusted us and believed in our idea.
Molham Volunteering Team was named after our friend Molham Traifi, a humanitarian who was martyred in Syria. We worked very hard with relentless efforts to alleviate the suffering of fellow Syrians. After three years of the start of our humanitarian work, we decided to institutionalize our work and obtained the needed licenses from Turkey, and the Team became an official charitable organization in Turkey. Following this step, on 11th of November 2015, we launched our website in order to further regulate and solidify our humanitarian work.
Our website is distinguished for its documentation of all received and disbursed donations, the simplicity of the online donation tool from the whole world, and for its Transparency File. Three years from launching the website, we reevaluated our work and reorganized it into three categories: the humanitarian and medical cases section; the sponsorship section for orphans, families, and patients; the education section for students; and the campaigns section. Our areas of operations for the past six years has been Syria, Jordan, Lebanon and Turkey.
Humanitarian and Medical Cases Section:
We received over 2400 humanitarian and medical case. 323 of them were for families and 2095 for individuals. The total number of beneficiaries is 3380.
In addition, we started several complementary campaigns for this section, including Razan fund for Cancer, Medical Emergencies Fund, Dialysis Fund, and Corneal Diseases Fund.
Humanitarian and Relief Campaigns Section:
We launch emergency response campaigns as well as periodic campaigns such as: Give Warmth campaigns, Ramadan campaigns, Eid Givings campaigns, Eid Al-Adha Sacrifice campaigns, Mother campaigns, Molham Giving Day, Zakat campaigns, and many others. The aim of these campaigns is to provide yearlong support for displaced families.
The Campaigns Section was actively responsive to humanitarian crises and massacres that occurred in the areas of Darayya, Doma, Madaya, Ghouta, Damascus Countryside, Northern Homs Countryside, Lattakia Countryside, Aleppo and its Countryside, Deir Ez-Zur, Idlib and others. They addressed the needs of thousands of impacted civilians.
Orphans, Families, and Patients Sponsorship Section:
In the last 3 years, this section secured monthly payments for over 1920 sponsorship. Over 1700 orphans, 80 medical cases, and 140 families are the total beneficiaries of sponsorships, which we still work on securing. Many of these were secured over a long period but for reasons related to change in situation of beneficiaries that they no longer meet our conditions or change in the security condition of the area, a sponsorship may be suspended or stopped permanently. There are over 690 current active sponsorships and we always endeavor to secure more.
In addition, there are campaigns and funds allocated for orphans. For example, we recently launched a campaign for a group of Syrian refugee orphans who live in dire conditions in Lebanon, lacking necessities, in order to establish a proper orphanage and secure a decent life for them.
Education Section:
Because education is a basic pillar of building nations, we assumed the responsibility of helping victims of the war to continue their education. The section does this through two main ways. First, through setting up direct donation links for university students, in order to help them cover their university fees. Until date, we were able to help around 50 unversity students.
Second: Through educational campaigns, funds, and centers. For example, Dream Fund for Idlib University students, Generations campaign for securing school supplies, Molham School in Arsal, Molham School in Batanta village, Molham Kindergarten in Yarmouk and Idlib, and Home of languages Institute in Idlib.
Molham Village:
A project launched on 27th of October 2017, with the aim of securing adequate housing for 300 families consisting of orphans, handicapped and injured individuals. The project is still in its early stages. A website has been launched for Molham Village project, where all details and updates are provided, in addition to an online donation tool.
Molham Events:
A project launched on 28th of November 2017, with the aim of drawing a smile on the faces of displaced children in the camps of Syria and neighboring countries. Over 150 fun parties were organized for such children. A website has been also launched for this project, whereby personal events may be added by anyone and donations may be made for the purpose of throwing fun parties for displaced children living in camps.
Transparency File and Latest News page:
In our work, we put great emphasis on the principle of transparency. Therefore, we added a timeline displaying the status of contributions made for all sections. The recently added Latest News page enables our followers to be updated on our latest activities on daily basis.
Additionally, the Transparency File page was founded in order to record all received and disbursed donations. It displays the details of all received and disbursed donations since the launch of the website until today.
We are around 200 volunteers from around the world, united by our love to help others, and driven by our hope to erase some of the injustice that fell upon our people. Molham Volunteering Team started working in Jordan, Lebanon and Syria, then expanded to Turkey where it obtained licenses to become an officially recognized organization. It finally reached France, Canada, Sweden and Germany. We will continue to go forward, hoping for God’s blessings as we continue to draw a smile on the faces of those who deserve it.
When we started, we were university students, driven by an idea we wholeheartedly believed in. We have been investing our time and expertise for the sake of this idea and in hopes of a little less harsh homeland. We thank everyone who believed in us and inspired us.
