Stories of our orphans
"Muhammad lost his father due to a grenade."
"Amani lost her father when she was a baby."
"Kawtar never knew her father."
"Ahmed lost his whole family in the war and was left all alone."
All their stories are similar, only the faces and circumstances are different. Usually, children's eyes light up and happy laughter can be heard when children play. Until a child loses its father or mother. This traumatic experience is formative, it changes life forever. The child then sees the world with different eyes, his dreams change and the scar of privation remains in his heart. Sometimes a child is lucky and lives on with one parent in a good house. But in the case of our children, the reality of life has hit them hard. These children are often not only half or full orphans, often they live in tents, have lost limbs or suffer from diseases. We hear their stories and try to help them and give them hope.
During Ramadan we have not started a special campaign for orphans. These children are permanently supported by the sponsorship department, 82 new orphans were added. 220 children are already receiving permanent support. The children have sponsors, who take care of their needs and secure them. The sponsors are regularly contacted and informed how their donations are used. For Ramadan, new clothes for each of the children have now been purchased for $30 each. The total amount of donations we have received during the month of Ramadan in the sponsorship department is $158,432 with an average donation of $3.94 per minute.
There are many areas where good can be done in different ways. However, taking care of an orphan remains a special feeling because the sponsors help to support a young person at the beginning of his or her life. The sponsors have the opportunity to ask at any time how their sponsored child is doing. They get information about the performance in school, they get information whether the child is healthy or sick, whether he or she wants a game, whether he or she needs clothes or something else... With the help of the sponsors the basis for a better life is laid. In this way the paths in the life of a child can be positively influenced and a little bit can be contributed to a happier childhood ...Nobody will be able to replace the loss of parents and family, but the sponsorships contribute to the fact that these children, despite their traumatic experiences, experience a childhood in which they radiate joy and hope again!
