What did the Medical Cases Department Achieve with 1 Million Dollars?
Close your eyes for a minute, imagine that your son, wife, or father is terribly sick and you have no means to reduce their pain. Imagine how helpless you would be feeling , while your beloved ones suffer in front of your eyes.
This is the reality of thousands of displaced and refugee Syrians, and for their sake, the Medical Cases department has worked relentlessly throughout 2020 to support them. This reports will provide details on the impact created by the donations to the Medical Cases department for 2020, which have reached $1,011,798.
The department received 2041 medical cases, through which they were provided with surgeries and treatment. Among these cases, 32 of them costed over $2000, such as Scoliosis surgery, conrneal trasnplants, Internal fixation for neck, internal fixation for ankles and backbone, and many other costly surgeries that were covered through your donations.
In addition, monthly sponsorship was provided for 188 person, in order to provide them with medications for their long-term conditions due to war injuries and displacement. Some were cancer patients, others had congenital conditions, eye conditions, hormonal conditions, skeletal conditions, and serious burns.
Moreover, the department worked on the following projects:
- Patient Transfer Vehicle.
- Deir Ballout medical Point.
- Barisha Medical Point.
- Ambulance Vehicle.
The Medical Cases Department consists of tens of volunteers and officers, who work in the field, case management, media, translation, finance, and feedback. They put hours and hours of their day hearing heartbreaking stories, writing about them, working to raise funds for them, and following up with them until recovery. Throughout 2020, they have managed to create a real change in the lives of 26,927 persons!
