Amal (born in 2008) lives with her family in a housing unit in a camp in the countryside of Aleppo. They live in very difficult living conditions. Her father works as a construction worker for a wage that is barely enough to provide for their necessities. Amal suffers from cerebral atrophy and severe seizures. Recently, she also suffered from Stevens-Johnson Syndrome, which appears in the form of a rash as a reaction to an allergy to certain medications.
