Abdul-Qader's journey with the disease was very long. He underwent a kidney transplant after suffering kidney failure, which left him unable to work. Because there was no breadwinner to assist him, he and his family were forced to rely on his sixteen-year-old son to make a living for the family. Abdul-Qader is unable to secure the basic necessities due to his difficult circumstances. Following a kidney transplant, Abdul-Qader needs lifelong medication since he is always at risk of getting sick, even if it is a minor illness that could endanger his life.
