Ahmed lives with his wife in a dilapidated two-room house in difficult living conditions. During the bombing, Ahmed was injured in the spinal cord by shrapnel, rendering him paraplegic and unable to work or provide for his family. The lack of a provider made things increasingly difficult as winter approached.  They need money to cover living expenses and to purchase firewood for warmth.
