Ayed's family lives in a single room in very poor living conditions amidst the lack of job opportunities in Lebanon, especially as Ayed works as a scrap dealer without a fixed income. He has accumulated debts to secure the needs and expenses of his family, fearing eviction by the landlord. They are now in urgent need of securing some basic necessities in addition to the rent for their home, as Ayed's attempts to provide for his family have failed due to these difficult circumstances.
