Ahmed has never been free from illness since birth. Born with hydrocephalus, after a shunt operation, doctors discovered he also suffers from a hereditary bone fragility condition. His health issues didn't stop there; as he grew older, he was diagnosed with liver cirrhosis and hepatic encephalopathy. Ahmed's pains are constant, and his mother, who sees his condition along with that of his sister suffering from brain atrophy, is left in agony, unable to do anything. Matters worsened for the family after his father was detained by the authorities, leading to financial and living hardships.
