Mahmoud has not been able to walk in the prime of his youth for eleven years, due to a sniper bullet that directly injured his spinal cord, causing him to lose his ability to walk. Despite his ongoing efforts for treatment, he has not found a way to walk again. Naturally, Mahmoud cannot walk and needs someone to support him. He only has his 13-year-old son to help the family with the small wage he receives, which barely covers their basic needs.
