All family members suffer from health issues that require continuous medical treatment. His wife is bedridden and needs spine surgery; his son has had an amputation of his left foot; his daughter suffers from brain atrophy; and his older son suffers from hypoxia (lack of oxygen in the brain), which has caused seizures and epilepsy, leaving him unable to work.
