In an old, unfurnished rental home, Mustafa’s family lives in constant fear of what’s to come. The landlord has given them until right after the holiday to vacate—and they have nowhere else to go, nor the means to afford another place. Mustafa himself was once imprisoned, where he endured unimaginable torture. He was released with a neurological condition and severe physical disability that left him unable to work or adjust to daily life. His father, who suffers from heart disease, survives on a meager pension, which the entire family relies on to meet their basic needs. The family is on the brink of losing the only shelter they have, while struggling to afford essential medications for both father and son, and paying their debts. Will we extend a helping hand after all they’ve endured?
