Maryam and her daughter returned from the Kafteen camps to Al-Surman to face a harsh reality: their home is nearly destroyed and unfit for living, and they have no steady income or provider. They survive on extremely limited assistance. The exhausting years of displacement and living in unhealthy tents worsened Maryam’s health until she became paralyzed. Returning to a partially ruined home has left her feeling helpless and hopeless, yet she continues to fight for her daughter and to provide her with a dignified life.
