‎Despite the loss of his son and the absence of his smile, and despite losing his leg due to diabetes, which also led to the amputation of toes on his other foot, along with suffering from heart disease and hypertension, Fouad remains patient and continues to face his pain with a smile. ‎He lives in Jableh in a basement that receives no sunlight. The basement has not been fully paid for, and the family is burdened with significant debt. His only son is the sole provider, earning a simple income that doesn’t match the growing expenses, including the cost of medication, treatment, and daily living needs. ‎Despite these harsh conditions, Fouad holds on to hope, waiting for a helping hand to ease the weight of illness, life, and longing.
