Story
Mother Khadija lives with her two sons, Mohammed and Munther, in their grandfather’s house after their father’s sudden death from colon disease. Both sons suffer from cerebellar ataxia, which has caused mobility disabilities and difficulties with speech and balance, in addition to seizures caused by excessive electrical activity in the brain that led to partial paralysis.
Khadija is the only caregiver and provider for them, despite suffering from heart disease, high blood pressure, and shortness of breath, which makes caring for them every day a burden beyond her strength. The family relies on help from kind people and sometimes faces days without food, while debts continue to accumulate. Khadija is also unable to afford her own medication, and the family lacks basic necessities. Munther needs a wheelchair to ease his suffering and make caring for him easier.
Your support today can ease the pain of a mother exhausted by illness and give her sons a chance for a more compassionate life. Let us stand by Mother Khadija and her family.
