Story
For nine months, Uncle Mahmoud has been living in half a world after cataracts affected his eyes and nearly took away his sight completely. He borrowed money to undergo surgery on his right eye, but poverty stopped him from treating the left, leaving him trapped between the darkness of illness and the inability to afford treatment. With advancing age and his struggle with reduced blood flow to the heart, each day has become heavier than the one before. The family’s limited income is not enough even for the most basic needs, so how could it cover the cost of treatment that would restore his sight? Between painful waiting and the fear of losing his vision, our support can be the light that breaks this darkness and returns brightness to his eyes, making the joy greater than words.
