Story
They lost their young daughter in the bombing, and the pain has remained in their home ever since. Today, they are caring for another child whose body has been weakened by severe atrophy. He cannot move, sit, walk, or even reach out his hand. He simply lies still, watching life pass around him. Mahmoud, the father, collects plastic from the streets and searches through garbage to sell whatever he can find. The mother works for a very small wage, but even together they cannot afford diapers for their disabled child, the rent, or enough food for their children. The family lives in a rented home under crushing poverty, with growing food debt and constant fear of what tomorrow may bring. Their child is trapped in his body, and his father can do little more than go out each morning hoping to find something to keep his family from hunger.
