Story
Khadouj can no longer walk or stand. After diabetes led to the amputation of both her legs, she was left confined to a small, bare room, unable even to reach its door on her own. She now depends on others for the simplest needs, from changing her position to handing her a glass of water. Her room is empty, her needs are many, and poverty has left her without the support she requires. Her children are poor themselves and can offer little beyond their heartbreak. Once, she moved on her own to care for her family. Today, she is left without her legs and without the means to meet even her most basic needs.
