Story
The family lives in a housing block within Shamarekh Camp and relies on the father’s income, a government employee with a limited salary that barely covers the family’s basic needs. The family previously went through a difficult experience when their daughter Lana was born with exotropia (outward eye misalignment) that affected her vision. She underwent surgery, and her condition improved.
Today, her brother Mohammad Wael is facing the same problem. He has suffered from exotropia since birth and now needs surgery to correct it after it began affecting his eyesight. The condition has also caused him noticeable psychological distress, as he feels embarrassed in front of others because of the appearance of his eyes. This makes the treatment especially important so he can live with greater confidence and comfort.
