Khalid was born in 1969 and is from the countryside of Idlib. He was diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis, which caused bone calcification limiting Khalid's range of motion and impacting his heart. Due to the war in Syria and being displaced to Turkey, he could not continue his treatment.
