"The bleeding drained our spirits too." It's been over 8 years since the forced displacement of Aunt Mayada and her family began, and 6 years since one of her children was struck by a shell, leading to a brain hemorrhage. The treatment journey took more than four years, consuming all of the family's savings and forcing them into debt just to keep their son alive.
