Historia
In 2011, Mahmoud joined the demonstrations demanding dignity and freedom. He never anticipated that the cost of his liberty would result in endless suffering. He was arrested by security forces, subjected to brutal torture, and shot in his left leg, which ultimately led to amputation. His other leg was also severely damaged, resulting in neurological issues and bone deficiencies. Despite these challenges, he survived and was released from detention, but now he lives with a disability, coping without a foot and struggling to adapt to his new life.
Mahmoud is unable to work or meet his basic needs. Every time he sees his children in need, his sense of helplessness and sorrow deepens. His parents are also suffering; his elderly mother has cancer and requires medication and treatment, but he is unable to assist.
All Mahmoud desires to reclaim some of what he lost during the war and his time in detention. Let us be the shoulder he can lean on.
