Izdehar lives with her husband and family in Lebanon after being displaced from their hometown of Homs years ago. Due to their difficult financial situation, they reside in a very modest two-room home, barely managing to furnish it with a few essentials. Since their displacement, they have struggled with poverty, as the husband is the sole provider, working as a laborer for a meager income that barely covers their needs. On top of supporting his family, he is also responsible for his sick mother’s medical treatment and medications, as well as the rent. After covering these expenses, little to nothing remains for the family’s daily needs, forcing them to borrow money repeatedly until their debts piled up.
