Nihad’s family is forced to live in a shared home with another family, without proper flooring or covered walls. A few worn mats are all they have to cover the bare ground. There are no carpets, no furniture, and none of the basic necessities for comfort. The father lost his job a month ago, and the only assistance they receive from the UN goes entirely toward rent. On top of all this, their young son has fallen ill and now requires regular doctor visits and ongoing medication. Their only daughter attending school studies alone, as the family cannot afford to enroll another child. Their children’s empty stomachs and lost opportunities for education are heartbreaking.
