In a small rented home, where poverty moved in before its residents, Ammon lives with her two young children. After losing her husband and sole supporter, she was forced to become everything at once: mother and father, comfort and provider, hope and daily bread. Her children know little of the world beyond its hardships. Her son, Mahmoud, has spent his childhood working in a car repair shop instead of playing or learning. While trying to make a small difference in their lives, a gasoline canister suddenly exploded, leaving flames to etch their story into his young body. Today, Ammon is not asking for much, just a bit of safety: help to keep a roof over their heads, and medicine to ease her son’s wounds and give them a chance to heal.
