Manar was born with congenital deformities that required years of treatment and multiple surgeries. During one of those procedures, a medical error — as her mother recounts — cost her the sight in her right eye and led to a corneal transplant in the other. Since the removal of her eye, Manar has suffered from painful adhesions, and now she urgently needs a prosthetic eye — a small step toward restoring the features that pain has stolen.
