Nadia was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent a partial tumor removal surgery and lymph node dissection, followed by a course of treatment and radiation sessions. Although she has completed the initial phase of her treatment, she now requires ongoing medical care—including medication and regular testing—for up to ten more years. Nadia’s family is facing difficult circumstances. To help make ends meet, they converted one of their rooms into a small women’s hair salon in hopes of creating a modest source of income for their daughter. With the growing burden of medical and surgical expenses, their limited retirement pension is no longer enough. Nadia has triumphed over cancer, but her journey isn’t over.
