Shahad is a five-year-old child. One year after her birth, she developed an infection, which led to a physical disability and paralysis in her limbs. Her father had been detained in Sednaya Prison, and upon his release, he was shocked by his daughter’s condition. His heart aches for her every day as he feels powerless to help her. The family’s suffering is compounded by the absence of any provider or financial income to cover even their basic daily needs. Today, the family stands unable to afford a wheelchair that could restore hope to Shahad. Sadness and grief are clearly reflected on their faces as she is deprived of her right to a childhood and to playing with other children.
