Histoire
Aunt Fatima’s struggle with illness didn’t start today. Years ago, she was diagnosed with diabetes, turning her life upside down. She later developed diabetic foot, which led to the amputation of her leg. Over time, kidney and vision problems added to her suffering. Recently, she experienced severe bleeding in her eye, and doctors confirmed she urgently needs a vitrectomy to save her eyesight. But the cost of treatment is far beyond what her exhausted family can afford.
Five years ago, Aunt Fatima and her daughters, one of whom is a widow, were displaced to a camp that lacks even the most basic necessities. The only male in the family is her grandson, who works as a daily laborer at a restaurant for a small wage, barely enough to cover their basic needs and his grandmother’s medical expenses.
Between her illness, the harsh conditions of the camp, and her family’s inability to afford treatment, Aunt Fatima’s hope now rests in the kindness of those willing to help.
