Histoire
This was never his place, nor was this roof his roof. Mahmoud, a man displaced with his wife and three children after Aleppo was stolen from its people and occupied by the oppressive regime, until their homeland became a tent, and their livelihood burdened with disappointments.
Mahmoud struggles relentlessly to secure for his children a hoped-for sustenance that rarely appears, yet the gazes of his daughter, sick with cerebral atrophy, who does not cry but groans silently, overwhelm his heart with helplessness. Today, Mahmoud is unable to pay his debts or the return fare to his beloved city.
Every bit of support brings him a step closer to his home and the walls he has long missed.
