Mahmoud struggles relentlessly to secure for his children a hoped-for sustenance that rarely appears, yet the gazes of his daughter, sick with cerebral atrophy, who does not cry but groans silently, overwhelm his heart with helplessness. Today, Mahmoud is unable to pay his debts or the return fare to his beloved city. Every bit of support brings him a step closer to his home and the walls he has long missed.
