Histoire
Uncle Ziad lives with his family amid the rubble of years gone by. With no home of their own, they now stay temporarily in his sister’s vacant house – a shelter that could be reclaimed at any moment, leaving them without a roof once again.
Five long years in Saydnaya Prison left Ziad deeply scarred, his body weakened by kidney failure, nerve pain, and chronic hypertension, and his spirit burdened by unseen wounds that never truly healed.
The family survives on what little his son earns through hard labor, while debts pile up and needs grow heavier, between the father’s medications and the school supplies for his daughter preparing for her final exams.
Ziad doesn’t ask for much – only for a bit of relief from a life that has already demanded far too much of him and his family.
