Histoire
Amina was born during the 2018 siege of Eastern Ghouta. In her first days of life, she developed severe jaundice that her family was unable to treat due to the harsh conditions at the time. The acute jaundice hid a serious condition; left untreated, it caused her permanent damage to her auditory nerve, leaving her in urgent need of a cochlear implant and ongoing auditory and speech rehabilitation sessions. To this day, she is still unable to speak properly.
Amina also suffers from hypoxia and requires hyperbaric oxygen therapy, in addition to being diagnosed with attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). She urgently needs support to secure her treatment sessions and be given the chance to heal and grow like other children.
