Khaled spent four days under the rubble following the earthquake in southern Turkey. He was pulled out and later his lower limbs were amputated because they were smashed. The earthquake took away his four brothers; he talks about them with pain in his voice and tears in his eye. Khaled returned to northern Syria with the rest of his family, and despite the worries that weigh heavily on his heart; he is determined to complete his education.
