Khoula went through a lot of hardships during the war especially after losing her husband. In 2012, her neighborhood was under heavy bombing which led to her being injured and transferred to Turkey for treatment. She had to go through almost 13 surgeries to save her life and still need one more surgery. Khoula lives with her son who suffers from asthma in Turkey with a family member.
