Mahyar used to live with his family of eight in Antakya. They had moved there after being displaced from their city due to the Syrian regime's siege on Aleppo. Mahyar was studying computer engineering and excelled among his peers. At the same time, he worked as a photographer to support his family and himself, especially since he was about to get married, bearing the responsibilities that come with it. However, after the recent devastating earthquake, Mahyar lost his entire family of eight. There were no survivors under the rubble except for him. Mahyar lost his left foot and spent a long time in the hospital. Thankfully, after a short period, his fiancée was able to come to Turkey. Currently, Mahyar is married and lives with his wife in a rented home under difficult living conditions. He is mentally struggling especially since the hospital didn't provide him with a prosthetic limb, preventing him from working and providing for himself and his small family.
