Jamil fell on his head from the roof of his house and suffers from chronic nervous seizures. He is completely unable to work and needs medication on continuous basis. His wife used to support the family through her work in sewing, but she no longer can work after she lost her sewing machine and fabric when the house was bombed. The family was forced to move to an unfinished house that lacks the minimum necessities of living.
