Zakour's suffering began with severe pain in his feet, followed by general weakness, long sleep, and constant pain. The symptoms soon increased to high fever and other symptoms, which the doctors at first explained as usual fever, but the tests showed something else, further medical examination confirmed bone marrow cancer. Zakour's father is the only breadwinner of a large family that consists mostly of young girls who were left alone in a camp with no money because their brother needed treatment. The child needed further tests and many expenses that the father could not afford, as he no longer had any money to secure the daily expenses or the costs of the medical tests.
